ERRORS JUST KEEP PILING UP IN GUN REGISTRY

“The gun registry is like a runaway train - totally out of control and no one knows when it’s going to crash.”

Ottawa – Today, Garry Breitkreuz, the Official Opposition’s Critic on Firearms and Property Rights, released a follow-up to his February 28th report titled: ERRORS, ERRORS AND MORE ERRORS.  “Since I released the first error report, more and more people are reporting horror story after horror story,” said Breitkreuz.  “As more irate firearms owners come forward, even the media are becoming more and more diligent in reporting their stories.  This is a very encouraging development because the public will become better informed about how useless this newest Liberal billion-dollar boondoggle really is at improving public safety.”

Here are the headlines from Breitkreuz’s newest report:

1. RCMP admit there are 49,000 unlicenced owners of registered weapons in B.C.

2. Justice Dept. documents show error rates of 71% to 91% in gun registry

3. RCMP admit they are responsible but are not in control of gun registration processing

4. Alberta MP’s firearms licence says he’s a “Moron” from Okatoks, Ontario

5. After three tries the Firearms Centre still can’t get his name right

6. RCMP register five guns to a man who doesn’t own them

7. RCMP register a Black & Decker soldering gun

8. B.C. man discovers RCMP registered someone else’s guns to him

9. Gun registry system can’t identify firearms

10. RCMP register prohibited AK47 as a restricted firearm

11. Firearms Centre has no record of over half of the handguns in N.B. man’s possession

12. B.C. handgun owner received registration certificates without even applying

13. Ottawa gun owner exposes CFC mistakes on all seven of his registration certificates

14. Gun with no serial number can’t be identified by $700 million gun registry

“The evidence that the gun registry is out of control is overwhelming.  It’s like a runaway train.  The only thing we don’t know is when it’s going to crash,” commented Breitkreuz.  “By the end of this year, the Liberals will have blown a billion dollars on this mess, and all they will have proven is their own incompetence.”
