OTTAWA (CP) _ It's a little like comparing Glocks and Guernsies, but the Opposition is asking how the government came to spend more on guns than cows. Saskatchewan Tory MP Garry Breitkreuz has looked up some information he thinks points to the udder, er, utter futility of the gun registry.

“The cattle industry can locate a cow in any barnyard in Canada in seconds in a system that cost about $8 million, but the billion-dollar gun registry still can't locate hundreds of thousands of gun owners and is missing millions of guns,'' Breitkreuz complains.

Perhaps the answer is to arm all the cows.
