An “Outdoors Caucus”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Garry Breitkreuz, Conservative MP for the Saskatchewan riding of Yorkton Melville wrote to all MPs and senators, inviting them to become members of a non partisan “Outdoors Caucus” to entrench in law the fishing, hunting, trapping and shooting sports practised by approximately 5 million Canadians as acceptable, traditional, environmentally-sustainable outdoor heritage activities with a safety credo and a conservation ethic as its highest priorities. The caucus will also seek to ensure that Canadians continue to have reasonable access to federally managed public lands and waters to enjoy traditional outdoor heritage activities. Mr. Breitkreuz believes that we must increase awareness of the economic importance of these activities to Canada's economy. His proposal should have been implemented long ago!
