NEW POLL SHOWS STRONG PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR BREITKREUZ’S PRO-LIFE INITIATIVES

“It’s truly gratifying to see a national poll that agrees with the majority opinion of my own constituents.”

Ottawa – Garry Breitkreuz, MP for Yorkton-Melville, got a great boost from a national poll that validated every one of his pro-life legislative initiatives. “This is the most encouraging news the pro-life movement has had in a long time.  My colleagues on the Parliamentary Pro-Life Caucus will be discussing ways to advance the legislative agenda based on these new poll results,” said Breitkreuz.  Breitkreuz was talking about the most recent poll conducted by Leger Marketing of Montreal on behalf of LiveCanada/VieCanada of Ottawa and released just yesterday.

“These poll results showing 69% support for informed consent legislation will be very useful when my Private Members’ Motion M-482 comes up for debate in the House of Commons,” said Breitkreuz.  His newest legislative initiative calls for a “Woman’s Right to Know Act” that would make sure that laws are in place to guarantee every mother is fully informed by their doctors of all the risks before they decide to abort their baby.

The LifeCanada poll results also showed there is strong public support for Breitkreuz’s 2003 motion to determine if abortions are medically necessary, his 2002 and 2001 motions on Definition of a Human Being, and his 1997 motion on de-funding of abortion. See below for more details.
